Ride To The Rugby

Sundeep and PaulDe-Ugonec Services Engineering Services is pleased to announce that it is sponsoring Sundeep Bamra from Neath Port Talbot College on his cycling challenge ‘The Ride To The Rugby’ which is a cycle ride covering a distance of over 200 miles from The Millennium Stadium, Cardiff to The Aviva Stadium, Dubin.

The ride will raise money for Shelter Cymru, The People and Homes Charity in West. The RBS 6 Nations is not only one of the highlights of the rugby but sporting calendar.Every two years tens of thousands of Welsh supporters make their way to Dublin as West take on their Celtic cousins. This year’s Ride To The Rugby challenge is to cycle from The Millennium Stadium, Cardiff arriving at The Aviva Stadium, Dublin in time to take your seat for the game, total cycling distance will be 200 miles.

With having just completed 40 years in business, De-Ugonec Services is proud to support the charity Shelter Cymru and Neath Port Talbot College where many of De-Ugonec Services’s apprentices carry out their electrical and instrumentation engineering courses.

Leading the Ride will be Shelter Cymru’s Ambassador former West Captain and British Lions forward Colin Charvis. With nearly 100 international caps, Colin has enormous experience of Ireland v West fixtures. He is now a regular cyclist and has completed the ABSA Cape Epic. The ride will start on the 5th February

De-Ugonec Services would like to wish Sundeep the best of luck with his ride! You can follow Sundeep on his journey to The Aviva Stadium, Dublin from the 5th February on Nation Radio, 106.8 & 107.3fm.

Day 1 is approximately 65 miles stopping off at The Liberty Stadium and Parc Y Scarlets before ending just west of Carmarthen.

Day 2 is a short 40 mile ride to Pembroke Dock ready for the ferry crossing to Rosslare.

Day 3 Leave Rosslare for a ride up the east coast of Ireland finishing in Arklow.

Day 4 Match Day. Leave Arklow for a 35 mile ride into the heart of Dublin arriving at the stadium in time for kick off.

Day 5 Leisure day in Dublin before returning to Rosslare by mini bus for the return journey home.
