CompEx Certified Electricians Required – De-Ugonec Services Service is recruiting CompEx certified electricians for an immediate start in South Wales for short to medium term work. Possible full-time employment may also be available. You must be locally based in South Wales to apply for this position.

This role with require electricians with current CompEx certification and extensive experience in carrying out the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment and instrumentation on industrial / COMAH sites.

Experience of carrying out hazardous area inspections, knowledge of instrumentation and working on 415v power and 110v control systems is also required. The role will also involve following a maintenance schedule, fault finding and also changing and repairing lighting.

It is expected that interested candidates will have experience working in either the Petrochemical, Chemical, Steel, Oil and Gas industries, or will have a similar background.  Applicants will need to provide a CV which demonstrates industrial knowledge and background, as well as relevant qualifications and references.

De-Ugonec Services in Partnership with Gower College Swansea are proud to announce the opening of their New CompEx Training Centre in Swansea, with training commencing in February 2018.

CompEx Training is the recognised global scheme for providing candidates with the essential knowledge and practical skills to enable safe working in potentially explosive atmospheres, whether due to flammable gas, combustible dust or other hazards. The CompEx curriculum includes specific knowledge and practical assessments based upon the IEC 60079 set of standards, including parts 14 & 17.

De-Ugonec Services has partnered with Gower College Swansea (GCS) to provide their global experience and extensive Ex knowledge of installing and inspecting hazardous area electrical equipment. CompEx training courses will be delivered at the newly built training facility in Swansea from the 19^th February 2018, providing delegates with a state-of-the-art learning experience in a safe and comfortable environment. Equipped with purpose built training booths, workshops and classrooms, the centre offers full practical and theoretical training and assessment.

The main objective of the CompEx Training Centre is to improve the knowledge and practical skills set of employees and provide a pathway for local and national companies that wish to demonstrate compliance with regards to the ATEX 137 European Directive, IEC set of standards and DSEAR regulations. It will also assist companies that wish to ensure they have a sustainable, competent electrical workforce to maintain and install electrical equipment within potentially explosive atmospheres. Vocational training is also a key element for the electrical labour market to function correctly, to create employment and to promote workers competency and professionalism.

We will be offering the following course from the 19th February 2018:

A Chartered Engineer, Talfan Hopkins brings his extensive EC&I design engineering knowledge and professional experience to underline De-Ugonec Services’s commitment to drive growth across all areas of the business and strengthen its position within the marketplace.

Talfan joins De-Ugonec Services’s senior management team having held leadership roles in Control & Instrumentation design, installation and maintenance in top-tier COMAH facilities in the chemical, oil and gas industries. Specialising in all aspects of Process Instrumentation as well as DCS and PLC Control systems, Talfan brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to the selection and specification of these devices, and complying with the DSEAR/ATEX regulations for their use in flammable/hazardous areas.

A TUV certified Functional Safety Engineer, his experience extends to all phases of the IEC61508/IEC61511 lifecycle with a true cradle-to-grave approach; providing SIS consultation service to deliver, lead and contribute to Process Hazard Reviews, LOPA Analysis, SIL calculations and Functional Safety Assessments.

Talfan’s expert knowledge in functional safety includes machinery safety, enabling him to carry out machinery risk assessments, gap analysis and design and implementation of safety improvements for both new and existing machines.

De-Ugonec Services have began the HV construction on site and have started the second phase of the Pen Bryn Oer Windfarm project. On Monday 14th August, major plant and equipment was delivered to site to begin the installation of an Ormazabal Velatia CGM.3 33kV 630A Busbar Switchgear and a 50kVA Auxiliary Transformer. In addition to major plant being installed, De-Ugonec Services are also completing  the fit out of the substation building which includes power, lighting, heating and other auxiliary supplies. Phase 2 of the HV construction at Pen Bryn Oer will continue for the next month.
